LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 30, 2003

TO:
Honorable Robert Puente, Chair, House Committee on Natural Resources

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2786 by Eiland (Relating to an extension of a strategic partnership agreement between a special purpose district and certain municipalities.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would allow the extension of a strategic partnership agreement between a special purpose district and a municipality that has a population of more than 250,000, that borders the Gulf of Mexico, and that is adjacent to a county with a population of more than 3.3 million.

The City of Galveston is the only municipality that meets the criteria of the statute.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
