TO: | Honorable Carlos Uresti, Chair, House Committee on Human Services |
FROM: | John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | HB2886 by Van Arsdale (Relating to certain certificates and reports filed with the bureau of vital statistics.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted |
This bill would amend sections 192.009 and 194.002 of the Health and Safety Code and section 108.003 of the Family Code regarding certain forms collected by the Texas Department of Health’s Bureau of Vital Statistics. The bill would require the Bureau of Vital Statistics to return incorrect forms, relating to certificates of adoption, annulments of adoption or revocations of adoption, and reports of divorce or annulment, back to the attorney of record designated on the form.
No significant fiscal impact is anticipated to the state because it is assumed the agency could implement the provisions of this bill with existing staff resources.
This bill would take effect September 1, 2003.
