No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code as it relates to requirements when counties must publish various notices in a newspaper of general circulation. The alternatives provided in the bill would apply to counties with a population of between 30,000 and 45,000, of which there are 29.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2003.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
