No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code, Chapter 62 relating to jury service.  The bill would provide for contempt actions for certain persons providing false information relating to jury service. The bill would provide procedures for prospective jurors to request postponement of jury service.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
