No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Comptroller to prescribe electronic media, formats and methods for appraisal districts to provide property owners and their agents with notices of appraised value required by Section 25.19 of the Tax Code.

The bill would authorize the Comptroller to prescribe media, formats, and methods for the exchange of electronic information for other notices, renditions, and applications. The bill could result in an undetermined amount of costs to appraisal districts that did not possess the necessary equipment and technology to comply with the bill's requirements.

In a county with a population of more than 500,000, the bill would take effect January 1, 2005. In a county with a population of 500,000 or less, the bill would take effect January 1, 2006.
