Estimated Two-year Net Impact to General Revenue Related Funds for HB3042, As Introduced: a positive impact of $20,000 through the biennium ending August 31, 2005.

The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill.

The bill reduces the frequency of commission meetings for the Building and Procurement Commission.  The bill also eliminates the restriction on the number of associate deputy directors at the agency.

Fiscal Analysis

The reduction in the frequency of commission meetings will result in a cost savings of approximately $20,000 for the 2004-05 biennium.

Methodology

Currently, the commission is expending approximately $15,000 per year ($1,250 per meeting) on travel expense as a result of conducting commission meetings once a month.  Reducing the frequency to one commission meeting per quarter, would result in a cost savings of approximately $10,000 per year.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
