Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 29, 2003

TO:
Honorable Tom Craddick, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3305 by Berman (Relating to certain surcharges assessed and collected by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.), As Passed 2nd House

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Alcoholic Beverage Code to strike the statutory requirement that the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission set fee and surcharge levels equal to appropriations.  Any net gain to General Revenue for this provision would depend on the level of legislative appropriations to the Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
