LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 14, 2003

TO:
Honorable Kenny Marchant, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3464 by Villarreal (Relating to highway beautification), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to expand the list of locations where a person may not erect an off-premise sign.  The Texas Department of Transportation indicates it could absorb the costs associated with implementing the duties and responsibilities of the bill within its current resources.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
