Estimated Two-year Net Impact to General Revenue Related Funds for HB3530, As Introduced: a negative impact of ($44,000) through the biennium ending August 31, 2005.

The bill relates to certain communications with state employees, agents, contractors and sub-contractors. The bill would take effect immediately upon two-thirds vote by members of each house.  Otherwise, this bill would take effect September 1, 2003.

Fiscal Analysis

The bill expands the number of persons required to register with the Texas Ethics Commission.  

According to the Texas Ethics Commission, the number of new registrants could potentially double from those currently required to register.


Methodology

The Texas Ethics Commission has indicated that due to the increased number of registrants, an additional Administrative Technician I, at a cost of $22,000 per fiscal year, would be required to process the increase number of filings

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
