No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.

The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $85,275.


The resolution proposes a change to the Texas constitution to remove restrictions on the types of voting methods that may be used to elect the governing body of a municipality. If the resolution is passed, it would be presented to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2003.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Passage of the resolution itself would not impact units of local government.
