TO:
Honorable Will Hartnett, Chair, House Committee on Judicial Affairs

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HJR64 by Farabee (Proposing a constitutional amendment to include a constitutional county judge on the membership of State Commission on Judicial Conduct.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.

The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $85,275.

The bill would propose a constitutional amendment to include a constitutional county judge on the membership of the State Commission on Judicial Conduct.  To the extent the agency would incur additional costs for  travel and copies of meeting materials for a new member, the fiscal implication of such costs are not anticipated to be significant.  The proposed constitutional amendment would be submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2003.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
