No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.

The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $85,275.


The resolution would propose an amendment to Article VII of the Texas Constitution to allow the Legislature to direct the School Land Board to approve a patent to release certain of the state's interest in specified land for consideration.

The land would be a tract of 35.686 acres, as described in the resolution, and the consideration would be $2,311.03.

The constitutional amendment would be submitted to the voters at an election to be held on November 4, 2003.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
