IN RE:	HJR94 by Merritt (Proposing a constitutional amendment to permit the legislature to require the sale of certain land dedicated to the permanent school fund in exchange for a specified sum.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.

The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $85,275.

The resolution would propose an amendment to Article VII of the Texas Constitution to allow the Legislature to direct the School Land Board to approve a patent to release certain of the state's interest in specified land for consideration.

The land would be a tract of 35.686 acres, as described in the resolution, and the consideration would be $2,311.03.

The constitutional amendment would be submitted to the voters at an election to be held on November 4, 2003.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
