No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Section 466.408, Texas Government Code to extend the deadline for making a claim on a winning lottery ticket for persons serving on active military duty during a war or national emergency. The Lottery Commission indicates the bill would not have a fiscal impact on the state.
The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds in both houses of the Legislature. Otherwise, this Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
