LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 23, 2003

TO:
Honorable Carlos Uresti, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB60 by Zaffirini (Relating to the provision of public mental health and related services for certain children with severe emotional disturbances. ), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would provide for mental health services and other services for children. Community resource coordination groups (CRCG) would evaluate the systems of care services in the community. The consortium that oversees the Texas Integrated Funding Initiative would produce a report based upon the CRCGs' evaluations. It is assumed that any costs could be reasonably absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
