No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would add new sections to Chapter 34 of the Civil Practice and Remedies Code and to Chapter 34 of the Tax Code relating to eligibility standards for participation in the public sale of certain real property.

The bill would require persons bidding on real property at court-ordered public sales or tax sales to obtain a written statement from the county assessor-collector where the sale occurs stating that the person did not owe delinquent property taxes to that county or to a school district having territory in that county.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
