The bill would amend the Government Code to allow certain communications service employees employed by the Texas Department of Public Safety to earn compensatory time off when they are required to work on a national or state holiday that falls on a Saturday or Sunday. The Comptroller of Public Accounts indicates that there would be no changes to the Uniform Statewide Payroll/Personnel System with the implementation of this bill.
