Fiscal Analysis

The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission, in conjunction with the Department of Health, to conduct a study of the reimbursement of emergency medical services providers under the Medicaid program.

Methodology

The Health and Human Services Commission estimates a cost of $100,000 in All Funds in fiscal year 2004 to conduct the study. The FMAP for administrative costs is .50. General Revenue cost would be $50,000.

The Department of Health estimates costs for this study would be minimal and could be absorbed within existing appropriations.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
