No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Section 216.003, Local Government Code, to authorize a municipality that exercises authority under the subchapter to require the removal of an on-premise sign not later than the first anniversary of the date the business, person, or activity the sign identifies or advertises ceases to operate on the premises on which the sign is located. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.
