This bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to implement a $5 court cost on felony and misdemeanor convictions. The court clerk would remit the court costs to the Comptroller after deducting a 10 percent timely remittance collection fee. The Comptroller would credit 10 percent of the revenue to the Center for Transportation Safety at Texas A&M University and the remainder to the Department of Public Safety.
