Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations
FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB667 by Ogden (Relating to the establishment or use of certain cemeteries.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Section 711, Health and Safety Code, to allow a corporation to file a written application not later than December 1, 2003 with a certain municipality to establish or use a cemetery located outside the municipality but within two miles of the municipal boundaries. The municipality would be required to determine the information to be included in the application. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2003.
Local Government Impact
The population brackets of the bill apply only to the City of Georgetown.
Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
