No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The local nature of this bill would not affect state educational operations or funding.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.

At this time, all school districts with central offices located in Dallas County and all school districts, except for the Houston Independent School District, with central offices located in Harris County would be affected by the proposed legislation.  The Texas Education Agency considers the exemption and additional local authority to adopt rules governing the term, election, and residency requirements would not result in significant additional costs for most districts
