No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would amend Chapter 773 of the Health and Safety Code relating to emergency medical services.   The bill would require licensed Emergency Medical Service providers to annually submit certain information to the Texas Department of Health (TDH).  The bill authorizes TDH to develop rules addressing the type of information to be reported and the manner in which the information is to be reported.  The bill would require TDH to publish the collected information on the its web site.

  

The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.

 

TDH indicated that it could absorb any costs related to the implementation of the bill with existing appropriations.


Local Government Impact

The provisions of the bill, that require the collection and annual submission of certain emergency medical services information, may have some fiscal impact on local governments which operate Emergency Medical Services.
