IN RE:	SB704 by Jackson (Relating to the maximum inmate population of a facility operated by a city or county. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would increase the maximum average daily inmate population from 2,000 to 4,000 for a jail facility contracted by a municipality with a county or private entity. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2003.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
