SB737 by Hinojosa (Relating to the exemption of certain military personnel from jury service.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code, Section 62.106(a) to exempt from jury service those members of the U.S. military serving on active duty and deployed to a location away from the person's home station and out of the person's county of residence.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.  According to the Office of Court Administration, possible costs to local governments for updating jury summons forms and questionnaires are not anticipated to be significant.
