Honorable Kenneth Armbrister, Chair, Senate Committee on Natural Resources
FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB898 by Averitt (Relating to the applicability of provisions concerning bond approval by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to certain water districts.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would eliminate the requirement for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to review and approve bonds proposed to be issued by districts meeting certain requirements. There could be some savings to TCEQ since the bill's passage could potentially result in fewer bonds to be reviewed by the agency. However, any such savings is not expected to be significant.
Local Government Impact
Because the bill would not have statewide impact on municipal utility districts of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
