LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 11, 2003

TO:
Honorable Kenneth Armbrister, Chair, Senate Committee on Natural Resources

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB953 by Madla (Relating to the regulation of stormwater management by certain counties.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would add to the counties and water districts or authorities that may regulate stormwater management, a county with a population of more than 1.3 million for which the primary source of drinking water is an underground aquifer. Currently, the new bracket would apply only to Bexar County.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
