No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 211, Local Government Code, to allow the governing body of a municipality to include in zoning regulations, authority over the appearance or architectural style of buildings or other structures and the appearance of yards, courts, or open spaces. These regulations would be subject to issuance of local permits. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003 and would apply only to an original permit application filed with a municipality on or after that date.
