No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, Article 35 relating to the questioning of prospective jurors during voir dire.  The bill would provide trial courts with guidance in determining which questions by attorneys during voir dire are necessary for challenges for cause and for peremptory challenges.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
