IN RE:	SB1012 by West (Relating to the placement of electronic monitoring devices in the rooms of certain residents in assisted living facilities. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would direct the Department of Human Services (DHS) to adopt rules to provide for the placement of electronic monitoring devices by a family member in the room of a person who is a resident of an assisted living facility.

DHS indicates that the bill would require the department to amend rules and policy, but it would not require the department to fund the expense of the electronic monitoring devices.  DHS assumes another entity will provide the funds for the equipment.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
