FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 15, 2003

TO:
Honorable Rodney Ellis, Chair, Senate Committee on Government Organization

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1151 by Shapleigh (Relating to the publication of state agency Internet addresses in telephone directories.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill amends the Utilities Code to require private, for-profit publishers of residential telephone directories distributed to the public at minimal or no cost to include the Internet address for TexasOnline and a statement that Internet sites for state agencies may be accessed through TexasOnline.  The Public Utility Commission indicates it could absorb minor rulemaking costs with the bill within its current resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
