FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB1230 by Wentworth (Relating to authorizing an environmental service fee at Southwest Texas State University.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would authorize Southwest Texas State University to impose an Environmental Services Fee if approved by students in a referendum. The Texas State University System estimates the fee would generate approximately $60,000-$65,0000 per year which could be used only to provide environmental improvements at the university. These fees are auxiliary in nature and do not impact state appropriations.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
