LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 13, 2003

TO:
Honorable Bill Ratliff, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1243 by Armbrister (Relating to systems and programs administered by the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

According to the Teacher Retirement System, the provision related to hospital participation in the retirement system's two insurance programs would increase the cost of providing insurance.  This increase may not be significant by itself, but if other similar requirements were to be adopted, the combined effect could be significant.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
