LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 5, 2003

TO:
Honorable Royce West, Chair, Senate Committee on Subcommittee on Higher Education

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1292 by Ratliff (Relating to extending the boundaries of a junior college district to include territory in the district's service area.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Although the bill provides the opportunity for increased local ad valorem tax generation if annexation is approved by voters, this would be offset to varying degrees by decreases in tuition and fee revenues as out-of-district students are annexed in and begin paying in-district tuition rates.
