No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code Chapter 2166 by adding Section 2166.2535, which would establish criteria to allow the Building and Procurement Commission to use the construction manager-agent method for a contract.  The bill would also amend language in Government Code Chapter 2166.2532, and Education Code Chapters 44.038 and 51.782 to update references in the statutes regarding the practice of architecture or engineering, and provide additional latitude and direction to an architect's or engineer's ability to serve as the construction manager-at-risk.
