LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 1, 2003

TO:
Honorable Eliot Shapleigh, Chair, Senate Committee on Subcommittee on Base Realignment and Closure

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1439 by Shapleigh (Relating to federal matching funds for certain projects at military facilities in this state.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to create the Military Facilities Funding Board and to give the Governor, with the concurrence of the Military Facilities Funding Board, the authority to direct that appropriated funds be used to obtain federal matching funds. The bill designates the adjutant general as a member of the Board. The additional duties required of the adjutant general and his staff would have no significant fiscal impact and would be managed within the agency's current level of appropriations.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
