LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 1, 2003

TO:
Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1459 by Lindsay (Relating to access to criminal history record information by a county fire marshal.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code as it relates to access to criminal history record information by a county fire marshal.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The Department of Public Safety charges $15 for criminal history record information from the state database and $24 for information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The costs to county fire marshals to request information from either source is not expected to significantly impact their budgets.
