LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 30, 2003

TO:
Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1472 by West (Relating to zoological operation and maintenance boards; authorizing taxes and bonds. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize a county commissioners court in a county with a population of more than 1.5 million that is adjacent to a county with a population of more than 1 million to create a zoo board. The population bracket would apply only to Dallas County.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
