IN RE:	SB1499 by Madla (Relating to contracts for the design and construction of transportation projects by the Texas Department of Transportation.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize the Department of Transportation to use design-build contracting as an additional contracting method. The wording in the bill makes the use of design-build contracting method permissive. The Department would therefore be able to determine which projects would be best suited for this contracting technique.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
