FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 6, 2003

TO:
Honorable Royce West, Chair, Senate Committee on Subcommittee on Higher Education

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1546 by Janek (Relating to laboratory fees for public junior colleges. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would eliminate the designated dollar amount limitation on the amount community colleges may charge for laboratory fees, and would instead limit the fee amount to actual costs of laboratory materials.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.  Community colleges may realize an increase in fee revenue to offset actual costs of laboratory materials.
