No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize certain county commissioners courts to hold an election on a uniform election date in the county's unincorporated area to seek voter approval for the commissioners court to regulate infrastructure and planning in the unincorporated area of the county. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.

A county would incur costs associated with adding an issue to the ballot on a uniform election date in seeking authorization to regulate infrastructure and planning in the unincorporated area of the county.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
