No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize the board of managers of a joint county and municipal hospital, upon approval by the governing body that created the board, to borrow money from a federally insured lending institution on behalf of the hopsital to pay costs relating to acquiring, constructing, rehabilitating, and equipping hospital facilities, including acquisition of real property and other improvements deemed necessary. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2003.

The provisions of the bill would provide an additional funding mechanism for an applicable hospital board.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
