No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would authorize the commissioners court to appoint one of the county clerk's permanent deputies to serve as the early voting clerk in an election in which the county clerk is otherwise designated as the early voting clerk, but is a candidate for an office for which more than one name appears on the ballot for election to that office. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.
