John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB1691 by Gallegos (Relating to the availability for public inspection of a final order in a parentage action.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Relative to a proceeding to adjudicate parentage, the bill would delete provisions allowing a court to close such a proceeding to the public. The bill would also remove provisions restricting public inspection of papers and records related to such proceedings. The Department of Protective and Regulatory Services indicates that the proposal would facilitate access to records in parentage proceedings when such documents are needed.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
