LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 23, 2003

TO:
Honorable Mike Krusee, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1714 by Wentworth (Relating to the designation of Farm-to-Market Road 1535 between Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis as the Second Indian Head Division Memorial Highway.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to designate the Farm-to-Market Road 1535 between Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis as the Second Indian Head Division Memorial Highway.  The bill would require the Texas Department of Transportation to erect a marker at each end of the highway and at appropriate intermediate sites along the highway.

Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in both houses; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2003.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
