LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 19, 2003

TO:
Honorable Robert Talton, Chair, House Committee on Urban Affairs

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1777 by Gallegos (Relating to fire control, prevention, and emergency medical services districts of certain municipalities.), As Engrossed

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would repeal a subsection of the Local Government Code that applies only to a fire control, prevention, and emergency medical services district in a municipality with a population of 1.9 million or more. The City of Houston is currently the only municipality that has a population of 1.9 million or more.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
