No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to payment to certain law enforcement support organizations as a condition of community supervision.  The bill would allow a court to require a person granted community supervision to make a payment to a non-profit organization providing assistance to dependents of certified peace officers and firefighters who are killed in the line of duty.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
