No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Penal Code by enhancing the punishment of the offense of assault if the offense is committed by a person who is not a sports participant against a person the actor knows is as a sports participant while the participant is performing duties or responsibilities in the participant’s capacity, or in retaliation or on account of the participant’s performance of a duty or responsibility.  It is assumed that the number of offenders convicted under this statute would not result in a significant impact on the programs and workload of state corrections agencies or on the demand for resources and services of those agencies.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
