HB725 by Haggerty (Relating to the participation of community supervision and corrections department employees, retired employees, and dependents of employees and retired employees in the group benefits program for state employees.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

CSHB725 requires community supervision and corrections departments to participate in the state's uniform group insurance program. The bill provides that the community justice assistance division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice is responsible for payment of contributions. The proposal also adds wording for rules and procedures regarding required annual reporting and contribution requirements. The bill, if enacted not have any actuarial effect on a retirement system because it does not propose to change the funding or obligations of any public retirement system.
