IN RE:
HB1180 by Chisum (Relating to participation by a defendant in a state boot camp program.), As Introduced

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure by extending the maximum term of confinement in a State Boot Camp Program from 90 days to 180 days.  As of March 14, 2003, The Texas Department of Criminal Justice reports a population of 87 inmates in its boot camp facilities.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice does not anticipate significant impact on the programs and workload of state corrections agencies or on the demand for resources and services of those agencies from any provisions of this bill.
