         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 14, 2003, the House  
         Committee on Agriculture & Livestock met in a public hearing and  
         was called to order by the chair, Representative Hardcastle, at  
         8:05 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Hardcastle; Miller; Brown, Betty;  
                   Burnam; Jones, Delwin (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Laney; Swinford (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         (Representative Laney now present.) 
          
         The Committee heard budget testimony on the following: 
          
         Texas A&M University Systems Agriculture Programs 
         Texas Agriculture Experiment Station 
         Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners 
         Texas Cooperative Extension 
         Texas Forest Service 
         Texas Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory 
         Texas Wildlife Damage Management 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 9:55 a.m., on the motion of Representative Burnam and without  
         objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the  
         chair.
